Persons with reduced mobility

Falck offers assistance in airports within the area of personal assistance to travellers with reduced mobility (PRM).
Inside the EU, travellers with reduced mobility have the right to a safe and comfortable transport process inside the airport. As an example, Falck has provided this service in Copenhagen Airport in Denmark since 2008.
The need of assistance to air travel passengers with a disability or with reduced mobility is growing fast.

Several factors fuel this growth including an aging population, lower air fares and a general desire to experience other parts of the world.

In recent years, the average increase in the total number of passengers in Europe is 6 % per year. In comparison, due to the correlation between an ageing population and the need for assistance, the increase in passengers requiring PRM assistance is estimated at 10 % per year. And further growth is expected.

ACI (Airports Council International, 2014) estimate that the average number of passengers needing PRM assistance is 0,7 % of all air passengers.
